What minimum possible time does it take to become live on Internet for a website?

I mean to say the time taken from domain registration, hosting and uploading. Here what I observered is hosting and uploading is almost instantanious if Internet connection and server is ok.

The next factor is time taken for propagation of nameserver details.

Any way I am asking about instant website?
Is it possible to register a domain, host and upload site content and all is available to world in minimum time.

So suggest me any one a startegy for minimum time taken in the whole process.

Well the fastest way is to upload files to your hosting immediately, when you setup the domain name and DNS. Then all you have to do is wait for the DNS to propagate. As you probably know, this takes as long as it takes and is entirely outside of your hands.

The speed isn't really something you can know ahead of time. But I have found that in the few cases that I have set up hosting, I have been able to get a site live in an afternoon.

I know I can purchase a domain point to my server and put a basic html page up and it will be live within 5 minutes. Now you can also have a site live before the DNS propagates by using a pre-propagation site. On my box Server Intellect (My server host) has HELM (control panel) that has a pre-propagation button. It basically creates a link using another domain connected to my DNS that will allow to see any html/code I apply while I am waiting for the DNS to propagate. I can even take that pre-prop site and use it for testing without touching my real domain site if I want. Today DNS is fast so more than 2 hours and you have a bad host or registrar.

DNS does not propagate. Zone changes are effective immediately.

DNS does however support client caches, this is why it takes time for all clients to do a new lookup and notice those changes. (Unless you prepare a change by lowering the time-to-live value in your zone to a minimum for at least the duration of the current time-to-live.)

Most of the delay in new registrations or moving hosts is when you assign new nameservers to the whois database. WHOIS is not updated immediately and is why you usually have to wait 24-72 hours before a new domain name is operative.

And if you have problems with seeing the new domain on your new nameservers just after you have changed it over.

Do a DNS flush.

Start > Run and type ipconfig /flushdns
