Alistapart put out this new method for spicing up your menus with jquery. It's pretty cool, and fairly lite to work with.

I put together this menu last night, though I'm not fully sure that I like it. But I'm going to ask the client and see what he says.

It's nice, but I don't think you need to fade the other text to black if you also highlight the selected one in red - it seemed too distracting, as I was trying to work out what the flicker was before I realised it was the unselected text going black.
