Hi Simon,

Could you please try to restate what you're saying. Your English has been fairly good up until now but your last post is a little crptic!

Are you offering feedback on WebRadiance? Our homepage can be a little daunting the first time you see it and so I suppose we expect our members to be familiar with forums/bulletin boards.

As for putting forums in forums, I assume you mean sub-forums?

I think simon is trying to say our home page's length is too long, with all the categories we have, and to put them into subforums to cut down on the length of the initial index page. but wouldn't it be annoying having to click through every sub-category?

The internet is meant to scroll vertically, and we will not opt to hide our category names where other visitors cannot clearly see the content we offer. I see no reason at all why you should be put off by the length of our forum home page. Scrolling up and down is a lot less of a challenge than finding forum topics we've hidden in sub-categorys.

i on the other hand was more attracted by the amount of catergories you have :)

yes it may be a long page, but i like the way how every aspect of webdesign has its own forum :)

it makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for.

Thanks

I don't like the idea of subforums at all. Makes things a lot messier than they are. I like that I can see everything on the same page even if it is a bit long.

99% of the internet world agrees with you. I'm not really sure what Simon was going on about... the way we have them now is perfect; "Show me all of my options without having to click once," is a beautiful thing.

I think it's important that we don't forget that the web can be a pretty intimidating place, especially when you're new to it and a long page with lots of things to read isn't exactly user-friendly. But we assume that our target audience are familiar with forum systems and very web-savvy, which I think is a fair assumption. We have also got the forums split into sections, which I think helps people process them much easier.

yea, i dont really have much preference, when i joined WR i had only ever been part of one forum, which had forums split into sections, so i easily adapted to this one, i know which forums i read and which i dont, and if theres a block of them i dont read, i just minimise that set :)
