I would recommend changing the name of this area if this is meant for suggestions. Feedback and news just did not hit me as the area to suggest you stuff...lol.

Okay, quick thought to improve this place. I noticed you have a Multimedia forum and a flash forum. I would say merge the forums, flash and multimedia go hand and hand. Or rename it something like Multimedia & Flash! I am sure I will have a few more things to recommend to you guys, so hope this does not piss you off...hehe

Any criticism is good! Bear in mind that we settled on the current configuration of WebRadiance relatively rapidly when we set up and that was about 9 months ago now. Perhaps we've got a little too comfortable with how things are at the moment while we wait for the site to grow? So yeah, any criticism is good criticism, especially if it gets people talking.

I think originally we wanted to keep Flash & Multimedia separate, but increasingly they're becoming more connected and questions in that area are very rare. Joining those forums isn't a bad idea at all.

As for 'WebRadiance Feedback & News', I was thinking only the other day that it would probably better to have an 'announcements' forum which just contains announcements we've made about recent enhancements, events, etc, but I think we wanted it joined with a feedback forum because then it makes it much easier for members to chime in with their own ideas. I suppose retrospectively it would be better to have them seperate, but still allow users to comment on announcements? We just really want to stress that if any member has an idea of something the site is lacking or a better way of doing things then they should mention it. Even if it sounds really stupid, it could give us a better insight into what our members want.
QUOTE(benbramz @ Aug 17 2007, 07:44 AM) Ive noticed that quite a few people are now adding quotes from the board into their signature. I think its started an new web-radiance craze.. :P

It's probably better to separate the feedback and news to different sections. It doesn't bother now but when WR grows and more and more people join the news may get lost between the feedbacks. I like the announcement area idea.

Can everyone chime in with their opinions and mention how they'd like to see some forums split, and some joined? For now, chime in about the splitting of news/feedback/suggestions/announcements, and the joining of multimedia/flash. Leave all other joining/splitting for a later time ^_^.

I, for one, like the idea of merging Multimedia & Flash, since, as it was mentioned above, Flash is beginning to be the medium for most multimedia on the web.

As for the splitting of news/feedback, and introduction of suggestions/announcements, I feel that 'feedback' and 'suggestions' are the same thing, and I'm completely cool with switching the word 'feedback' for 'suggestions' if that makes it more clear to the majority of members. On the other hand, adding a separate 'announcements' sub-forum, in my opinion, is a little premature. I think we're still at a comfortable size to keep our news to our members in the same area as suggestions from our members. They sort-of go hand-in-hand.

What are everyone else's thoughts? I'm sure once we get enough opinions from ya'll, we can have a fair assessment of what the general majority wants... then of course, we'll do it!

It would make perfect sense to merge Multimedia & Flash (although since flash is more prevalent it should read Flash & Multimedia). -- Good suggestion Jacob

Secondly, I would leave the Feedback & News as it stands. It is a good mix/blend for the forum size. There really aren't enough 'announcements' that would constitute a sub-forum or even its own.

Merge was good. I agree that Flash and multimedia can be in one forum.
