Hello fellow ASP.Net developers of WebRadiance.
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers" :D

Ok it seems the ASP.Net is lacking a little love - less topics than the *Database* forum - oh dear.

Anyway I use asp.net 2 and was wondering whether anyone used any 3rd Party GridView controls.

I just downloaded the DevExpress suite and am planning on giving it an evaluation.

Its not that I'm too lazy to do the fancy stuff (master detail/row highlighting/ajax etc) - ok I am - its just that I want to get my product out as quick as possible

Has anyone got any recommendations/good or bad experiences?

I know, we're a lonely group at the moment (I'm still trying to convert and recruit more).

I use CodeRush and RefactorPro by DevExpress and they're really great products. I was just looking at their new ASPxGridView tonight actually, but haven't tried it out.

I've always ended up writing my own since I haven't come across a client with heavy grid needs yet, but I have also looked longingly at

Telerik's RadGrid: http://telerik.com/products/aspnet/control...d/overview.aspx
Component Art's Web.UI Grid: http://www.component...webui/grid.aspx

I think they both offer trials as well, so you can play around with them a bit.

The DevExpress one has comes with a 60 day money back guarantee, it's priced as well as or better than the other two, and comes with the grid exporter and those various editors. Let me know what you end up with, I'm curious...

Well I've been playing around with the DevExpress control for a bit and I *know* it can do what I want it to do - I just need to actually *get* it to do what I want it to.

We actually use the Telerik suite of controls at work my day job - not the grid though. Overall although telerik is pretty and offers a lot of functionality I feel they are a little heavy overall.

Thanks catalyst for the Component Art's link - that grid gets me all hot and bothered just looking at it. I think I'm going to have to try that one out as well just for kicks.

I just thought I'd post to say I'm still working on it :D
