Hey guys wondering, if you are using Adobe CS3 and do you think, if there are other alternatives to CS3. Would you recommend CS3 or wait for something else.

I use CS3 regularly, and can recommend, as a suite of tools, it's incredibly powerful.

It's a great suite of applications, probably the best there is. I have personal angst with CS3 itself - I'm a big lover of CS2. Either version, though, is expensive and hard to justify if you're not a full-fledged company with money to throw around.

I don't really see much in each new Photoshop version that's worth the upgrade price, unless you're using the application daily and need to stay up to date with the file format changes. Otherwise, you can get away with only moving on every 3-4 versions, which is what I do. I just went from 7 to CS3.

Yep, still on CS2. Didn't see anything that made me want to upgrade, and as I understand it they dropped ImageReady as a separate product which I use all the time.

I agree unless there is some feature in CS3 you absolutely cannot live without, stick with CS2 .

I`ve got CS2.

There is ONE thing about Photoshop CS3 Extended that I wish I had in my current version.
Importing 3D Objects.

From the tutorials I`ve seen, this feature looks way cool.
Take a look.

It seems like 3D graphics is the new frontier for Adobe.
Expect to see a lot more in future Photoshop releases I think.

having both CS2 and CS3 i can say that CS3 is by far the faster and ligher program. Everything much smoother this helps especially for folks that are using multiple programs at one time that take up a ton of ram/cpu usage.
