Just thought i put this out there.

How about a CMS Section as there seems to be loads and loads of info that help create better sites when using them. They also are a bit hard to use sometime and are becoming more and more invaluable to site building. I am starting to think no matter how small a site i should always start to design with a CMS framework in place. Allowing for expansion and client self-updating.

I think the only problem with having a CMS section is that a CMS can be written in various languages and we already have forums dedicated to a particular language.

I wouldn't have thought that a CMS section per se was needed. Within any CMS you have the same design problems or considerations as any other website, so you'll encounter html problems, css problems or coding problems, each of which fits into another category already. A review section dedicated to CMS and eCommerce systems might be an idea though - where members can (if they can be bothered) write about their experieces with open source systems, or alert us all to new ones (like http://chyrp.net/ which looks like a nice, very simple addition to the blog-system ranks).

So maybe a review subforum. Where not just CMS's could be reviewed, but all web design and development applications, tools, etc... can be reviewed.

While I think that all the stuff that is involved with a CMS could be covered in other parts of the forum, I personally think a CMS section would be a good idea. CMSs come with their own brand of issues and problems specific to each CMS. Even though the problem may be a CSS issue, in particular it will be CSS with that CMS, and the solution may well lie in a menu selection, rather than in the actual code. For example, a menu selection may change from one stylesheet to another, solving whatever problem it may be. Going in and changing the CSS in the actual code may potential screw something else up. In this case, the problem would be specific to CMSs more than the code.

Most CMS's do have their own forums, and any major 'system' problems are often best answered there, or indeed have been already. I could be wrong of course, but I don't see a CMS specific section being used that much? Anyway, it's up to you lot lol
