Stumbled across this site when looking for a tutorial to help me vectorize and jpeg image(which i didnt find)

http://vectormagic.com

Works really well and they give you 2 tokens which equals to two images.

Anybody got a tutorial for illustrator to vectorize images.

Cheers

Steven

Looks like a good resource! This could come in really handy next time a client gives me a tiny version of their logo.

Here's a little tip I have picked up recently. If you need a vector logo for a company and don't have one on hand, you can use google to search their domain for pdf files. Use the following code:

site:something.com filetype:pdf

It will list off all the .pdf files on their domain. Open the PDF in photoshop or illy, isolate the logo, and you now have a vector image of their logo. I've used it once and it was great!

Sounds good. A lot of my clients are first-time website owners, but that would work well for redesigns.

Right now I need to focus on getting myself Photoshop, though.. I just got a Macbook, so now I'm faced with the challenge of getting all my software all over again. :lamo:

You could try Pixelmator as a cheap alternative until you can afford PS. its a new product and doesnt have all the PS features but is well worth the investment.

Thanks for the tip! Pixelmator looks pretty cool. I've gotten pretty decent with GIMP, so I'll probably be using that a lot while I figure out the cheapest way to get a license for the PS CS3 Extended I downloaded..

I found this vector tutorial it is for photoshop, but it might be a start in the right direction. It seems pretty comprehensive. Also, this seems like a good resource of vector tutorials.

Hey this is a nice tool. Don't think it'll be a total replacement for creating vectors, but a nice little tool all the same.

Great find Steven!!
