Greetings.

I'd like to create a simple file upload page, ideally utilizing FTP under the hood ('cause some files to be transmitted might be large). I'm a newbie to the web, html & css -- anything on my site (link in signature) I cobbled together using 'stolen' example code, tho' I do have a bit of systems development background.

Any suggestions as to approaches (php? cgi? cPanel widget? ...), tutorials & sample pages most welcome.

If there are any 'built-ins' in cPanel/fantastico that I can leverage, I'd appreciate knowing about them.
Similarly, if anyone has a sample script that shows how to access/use users created by the cPanel's FTP Manger, that'd be splendid.

If it matters, my site is hosted on a Linux box. (Even if it doesn't matter, my site is hosted on a Linux box.)

Thanks kindly.

- Richard

Since you have Fantastico, try installing and playing around with PHPFormGenerator. That can generate an upload form for you. It's not the best or the most modern, but it'll generate some PHP for you that you can tweak and improve.

I have done a online drive thing before. The code works pretty well. I think I used this http://php.about.com...file_upload.htm tutorial with great sucess.

If you are still struggling. Post here and I'll post some code that I use :)

The link that Mark showed you isn't actually FTP - it's just using the standard PHP file upload. This one uses an FTP module for PHP: http://www.dmxzone.c...?topic_id=26999

I know the topic isn't the same issue as you're having, but his solution may fit.

Have you looked into using an open source CMS such as Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress? They have plugins that makes it easy to implement this functionality and also extend your site in other ways.
