i need a wysiwyg editor and the ability to update images, add testimonials and so on..also seo-friendly urls would be nice..i don't want anything too complicated since the design is already done..thanks

If you are interested to develop a website with easy to update from "admin" you can use Drupal CMS. Drupal is best for building search engine friendly content-based website.

Plus you get the advantage of having a "Visual Editor" for WYSIWYG editing and uploading content.
A good book to get is :
WordPress Theme Design: A complete guide to creating professional WordPress themes (May 30, 2008) by Tessa Blakeley Silver
One caveat on all this though is that I`m not really a big fan of the Visual Editor.
When I edit pages using the VE it seems to do unfortunate things to my underlying code, like delete <p> tags for instance, leading to validation errors which ruffles my feathers
It`s the only CMS I`ve used though so I can`t compare to Drupal or Joomla (the BIG TWO ).

Make a code library for that, it will work.

I am currently triying to get this WP cms to do what i want for my Portfolio site right now and i am using Starkers. Also if you use any version below 2.7 there is a nice simple CMS plugin that helps strip out unwanted admin options if you plan to let simpletons update the site.

Pretty much 90% of what Vantage Street has been doing recently wordpress development. Let me know if you run into any problems.
@TWD The visual editor is a bit funny. It takes double spaces to make a paragraph. [ http://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_Posts#B...ces_For_Posting ]

1) Joomla is easy to update. it is easy to create an attractive site.
2) Drupal is just as easy to update and with the growing number of template clubs is easy to create an attractive site.
