I'd like to introduce everyone to the latest addition to WebRadiance; if you look towards the top-right of the web site, you'll see a new link, called 'Links'. This is our new, completely custom, Affiliate Links system.

Before I get into the basics, I'd like a big round of applause for benbramz. While all of the admins contributed in one way or another, it was Ben who did all of the nitty gritty work. :clapping:

The Affiliate Links system is fairly simple and follows these basic principles:
  • You submit your own website to WebRadiance for inclusion
  • You put a link to WebRadiance on your own site
  • You yell, "yayhooray!"
All sites submitted to WebRadiance *will* be held in a moderation queue temporarily. They will be approved for inclusion if the following conditions are met:
  • Your website is related to the topics discussed on WebRadiance
  • You have a link to WebRadiance on your site
  • Your link is not a duplicate of another one already submitted, approved, and visible
  • You yelled, "yayhooray!"
Please keep in mind, we currently do not have all of the categories available that we will ultimately need. Like the entire site, this new system is in it's infancy; if you see the need for a category we don't yet have, please use this thread to request it.

That goes for all things related to the affiliate links system; if you have a question, complaint, suggestion, or you just want to type, "yayhooray" about it, please do so in this thread, and this thread only.

There are rules specific to the affiliate link system posted in our "WebRadiance Guidelines", and like all of the guidelines, they can change anytime (and likely will as we iron out the bugs).

Ok everyone, start signing up!

Thanks! :D

Its all for the community, and without spoiling any surprises, I'm working on some much more amazing add-ons to the forum which will rise like a phoenix very soon (I hopes).

That's all I'm really going to say for now… Hehe

Although, with this new functionality, there are going to be teething errors. Where the other admins and myself have tested this relentlessly (Really, I've been moaning at poor BenBacardi and Syher for the past week now :P ) There are going to be slight niggles…some I rectified minutes after I uploaded it live haha!

For now, the links system is released as a "beta" version. Where im not going to be like M/S or Google and slap beta all over the thing, just be advised the boat may be a bit rocky. Although the system itself is very stable, there are going to be things you as members (the driving force of this links system) are going to want to see. Post all comments in this thread, ill greatly appreciate it.

I do plan to release this script as a public component for IPB in the very near future. If you want it for your forum, id love to see people using it.

Get your links added and don't forget your yayhooray's!

Just a quick question to all of our members who have their own websites/blogs/etc., have you taken advantage of our Affiliate Links system yet?

Well, technically we're interested in building links with like-minded websites (design and development related), but since you are who you are, I'd say "why not?", go ahead and add it.

I do not want to be rude, but I can`t see how this will work, as I have discussed such a link exchange partenrship with you (especially sypher) about 2 or 3 months ago, when I also did my part of the link exchange, but never got yours in return.

Will our affiliate links be activated like 2 months after being moderated?

there are no links sat in the DB waiting to be validated...are you sure it was added? if you wish to liase on this further, please feel free to email me =)

it could be there is a bug in the system, unlikely, but i want to check any possible problems out.

It's not rude at all, we welcome all of our member's opinions and criticism; it's the only way we can get better.

Like Ben said, we didn't see anything waiting in queue, can you re-submit it (if you haven't already)?
