I have a question about paid memberships. I know you guys don't have one right now, but are you planning on adding one on later?

What about a donation part? Something...how can you guys afford to host this website at no cost to yourself?

Well, right now the admins chip in together to pay for the IPB license, domain, and hosting...so donations wouldn't be turned away ;)

How do you make a donation? I'll have to double check with the other admins before answering.

im sure at some point we will accept donations. i was working on a mod for the IPB commuity where donations go through our paypal API, basicly, all the transactions of every donation we would have a record of. so then i would build a page where members can see how much has been donated, then we can tell people where the money has gone etc.

we wont ever start subscription services, ever, ever ever.

you will notice no google ads about the place, we havnt set this site up to earn money. its goal was never to do that =)

donations will be set up soon theres no real need for them yet. but thats as far as any revenue will be collected from here.

You mean we could make money?!... Hold on then...let's not be too hasty about this...

kidding, we all left another forum because we hated the very money-centric attitude.

Indeed. Of course it's alright for some, but we want to keep Webradiance ad-free unless we absolutely had to (but we'd need to be so huge it's not worth thinking about).

We'll probably seek a sponsor long before thinking of adding adverts, subscriptions, etc.

But quite simply, Webradiance currently uses 1% of the bandwidth for the hosting service it's on. It'll have to grow a hell of a lot before that can start to become a problem.
QUOTE(benbramz @ Aug 17 2007, 07:44 AM) Ive noticed that quite a few people are now adding quotes from the board into their signature. I think its started an new web-radiance craze.. :P
