No date has been, or will be, set. I can tell you that we're in the process of converting our modification and adding a little bit of polish to our existing skin in a development environment before officially upgrading.

I wouldn't get too excited! 2.2 is mostly comprised of updates to the backend. The most noticeable difference to visitors is the improved post editor, but other than that it's quite similiar.
